What are the disadvantages of resin flooring?
A major disadvantage of resin is the initial cost of installation many potential customers are swayed because of the expensive costs so are unable to get the benefit of only having to get a topcoat to freshen up the floor to look as if new again after years of use.
What goes under resin floor?
Resin floors go down in layers it would be laid on either 18mm plyboard or concrete as the substrate floor, Firstly Primer goes down, then basecoat, then the designcoat (where your bespoke design goes), then you have a topcoat as the finish that you see.
Do resin floors crack?
Resin floors can crack if laid on a substrate floor that has been laid to a substandard level

Resin floor can be slippery when wet, caution must be taken when walking on any surface that is wet
Do resin floors scratch easily?
Resin floors do not scratch very easily, but over time resin floors will show signs of scratches and dullness.
Can you put a resin floor over tiles?
You can Resin over tiles, as long as the integrity of the tiles and adhesion to the substrate floor is good then you can install a resin floor over tiles
Are resin floors cold?
Generally resin floors have a cold feel firstly, then quickly warms up from the warmness of your touch.
What is the difference between epoxy and resin flooring?
It is one of the same, different names for the same thing
Do resin floors stain?
Resin floors can stain I have seen with stuffs that have a potential to stain, this is totally reduced when removed immediately with soapy water
Can you put resin flooring over laminate?
No you cannot resin over laminate flooring
How long do resin floors last?
We would say resin floors last as long as you take care of the floor, Resin floors are very durable and potentially could last forever, people would usually get resin floor for the aesthetic look, ie, Design or for the shine of how it looks when under lights and it is for this reason we would say that a resin floor would generally lose its sheen over 3 - 5 years, so we would say thats when we would be called in to give the floor a new Topcoat that would revive the sheen of the floor giving the floor a new lease of life

The charge to lay a resin floor would probably be approximately between £100 - £150 per m2

Yes you can have under floor heating with resin flooring

A resin floor would be generally be between 5 - 7 mm

We have seen no instance of a resin floor breaking down or degrading ever

In the right conditions resin will fully cure in 48 hrs
Can you repair a resin floor?
To repair a resin floor is very difficult and would usually mean that the floor has been laid incorrectly, substrate floor must be perfect before a floor is laid otherwise the integrity of the floor is compromised. This would normally lead to de-lamination either cracks in the floor or bubbles appearing in the floor where the resin starts to lift up. This would lead to the whole area having to be taken up and re-laid from the bottom up from substrate level.

To High Build (HB) resin, a garage floor would be dependant on the preparation of the area before the resin installation but generally, it is between £20 - £40 per m2
